Horse Show Update - Day 3

Rainy, windy, & freezing cold describe today pretty well. They did end up moving the reining classes to a covered arena, but there as hardly any space to warm up. All we were able to do before showing was a couple of tiny lope circles, lots of trotting and a couple spins. But, Breezy was really good and I rode better then I did the 1st day and we pulled out a score of 71 from one judge and 69 1/2 from the other judge, which were good enough for 4th & 7th out of 22. I under turned one direction which probably cost me a 1/2 point and still could have gone faster in my circles, but in all much better. I had a lot of fun! And the 4th earned us 1 point toward qualifying for the World Show (just 15 more to go!).

Hopefully the weather will be better tomorrow.....

Congrats on the point you earned! Hey, to make improvements in bad weather and little warm-up seems like a pretty successful day!!! Good job :-)

good job, kristin! it's great when you play well with the hand that's been dealt to you. it makes it all that more rewarding when conditions are difficult!

You are doing great. If it isn't one thing it is another when it comes to showing horses. I was watching extreme sports the other night and thought how easy to just have to trust your own ability. What if those skiis were alive and didn't always listen or follow the way the person pointed them. Now that would be worth a Gold Medal at the finish line.
