Las Vegas

Dave and I had the best trip to Las Vegas!

We drove out there on Thursday morning. Luckily there wasn't much of any traffic. We arrived at the MGM around 4pm.

After checking in we decided to wonder around the casino. The $15mil sign above a $1 slot machine caught our eyes so we dropped a $20 in it. First pull yielded 3 triple bars and $120s! Then only 5 or so pulls later it hit again!!! It was a great way to start the weekend. That evening we toured the M&M and the Coca-Cola stores.

Then we watched the final basketball game at a bar at the MGM, Centrifuge. It was fun to watch our favorite team win.

After the game we headed to dinner at Wolfgang Pucks. This was the 1st of many wonderful meals.

Friday morning we got up at 9am and we were to The Grand Spa by 9:30am for our massage appointments. We got side-by-side Deep Pressure Massages. It was Dave's first time. Then we enjoyed the many amenities at the spa. We met back at the room and then headed to get our picture taken with a lion cub. For only $25 we got to pet a cub and have a picture taken touching it. It was such an amazing experience!

Then we spend the rest of the afternoon lounging by the pool and floating around the lazy river. Now that we were totally relaxed it was time to put on our party clothes, including my new A/X skirt!

We had dinner at The Pearl. It was a modern Chinese restaurant in the MGM. One of the best meals we had ever had!

Our dessert:

Since we were all dressed up we decided to go to Studio 54 for some dancing, but the line was like a mile long. So we settled on a bar with flavor infused martinis and people watching.

Saturday we decided to tour the other hotels on our end of the strip. We visited New York-New York, Luxor, Mandalay Bay, and Excalibur.

Of all the hotels we have seen and the many sights and attractions our favorite was the Lion Habitat at the MGM. Here a few pics that should help you understand why we loved it so much...

Saturday night, since neither of us had ever seen a Vegas show before, we saw Rita Rudner. She was hilarious. We laughed so hard.

Then we went back to the MGM and played some video poker. We found a great machine that keep hitting for like 2 hours.

Sunday morning was a very sad morning. The morning we had to leave :o( We packed up, checked-out, said good-bye to our lions and headed home. We hit some traffic and didn't get home until after 6pm. Since we didn't hit the $15 million jackpot we will have to go to work tomorrow. Bummer.

Palm Desert Weekend

Dave was playing in a golf tournament in Palm Desert so we decided to make a weekend of it. We drove out there Friday evening after work.

When we started hitting traffic in Riverside we stopped and had dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. One of my very favorite places to eat!

We got to Jenny and Straty's house around 9pm. Since we had not seen them since they moved out there over 2 months ago it was wonderful visit with them.

Saturday morning Dave left for his tournament and Jenny and Straty left for work leaving me to lounge and relax all day. Which I did do quite well. I tanned. I swam. I watched movies. It was wonderful! Dave got home around 2:30pm. We got to hang out with Straty that evening until he had to leave for a work thing aruond 6:30pm. Then we headed to The River for dinner. We ended up eating at Babe's. The food was quite yummy!

Then just walked around and enjoyed the beautiful evening.

Sunday morning was pretty much the same. More lounging and more golf.

Dave got back from playing golf around 3pm. He had not played as well as he had the daqy before, but did win Longest Put on the 18th hole. We cleaned up and headed for home. By the time we passed the windmills it was pretty clear that we weren't going to make it back in time for church so we made the best of it by stopping in Cabazan for a little outlet shopping. I ended up getting an absolutely FABULOUS skirt from A/X for only $19.99 (originally $165)! I can't wait to wear it in Vegas next week!
