Dave Meets Breezy

Saturday Ride

Here are some pics from my ride on Saturday. I am really liking Breezy so far. He has a gigantic stop on him. It feels like we are sliding for miles! We just need to get him to relax and wait for me in the run downs. My mom videoed my lesson so we might be able to get some stoppinig pictures from that. I will defiantely post them if we do.

Game Night

Here are some pics from our Community Group game night. We played Family Fued (girls vs. guys) and Catch Phrase. The girls won 2 out of 3 times at Family Feud. WE RULE!

Well, I Did It

I purchased the horse I tried in Scottsdale a couple weeks ago. He arrived just yesterday. I am so excited! I have been waiting to get another horse for 6 years and waiting my whole life for a horse of this caliber. For those who don't know, I stated riding at the age of 2 and showed heavily until around 1999 when I decided I had to concentrate on my education and obtaining a career outside of the horse industry. However, my passion for riding and showing horses has not at all diminished in that hiatus from horses. I just can't wait to get back in the show pen. I know that there is a lot work to be done to be competitive again and Breezy, my new horse, is far from perfect (and so am I for that matter), but I feel so blessed to be given this amazing opportunity to live out my dream.

IBF World Championships

Yesterday my mom and I went to the Internatioinal Badminton Federation World Championship held for the first time iin the US. I got free club box seats at The Pond from a venter at work. It was so awesome we practicaly had the box to ourselves. We had so much fun!!!! Our arms are still sore from hitting out thunder sticks :o)

Scottsdale

We had a very quick but enjoyable trip to Scottsdale, AZ this past weekend.

We left Friday at around 2:30pm and arrived at Uncle Scott's home at around 9:00pm. We ended up hitting quite a lot of traffic. But, we were so excited to see Uncle Scott when we are arrived and instantly felt like it was worth the drive. I was super exhausted from a long week so we hit the sack by 10pm.

Saturday morning I got up early and spend some time hanging out with Uncle Scott and then I headed out to try out some horses. I had such a great time! In fact, I may have found my horse...

After I finished ridding I went back to Uncle Scott's to get cleaned up. Uncle Scott and Dave had been looking at investment properties in the area. They came home and picked me up and we headed out to look at some model homes, used homes and even some land. Then we went to dinner at the club house in the community he lives in.

We left Sunday morning around 9:30am and arrived back in The OC by 4pm. Just in time to shower and get to church by 5pm to set up and serve.

Now I just have a very stressful decision to make....

Good News, Bad News

So the good news is that my mom finally decided on a name for her horse, Miss Lark. However, the bad news is that it isn't her horse anymore. Turns out that Miss Lark isn't as friendly and sweet when you are trying to ride her. So the person she bought her from is going to take her back. Bummer.

Bunny Time

Tulare

Well, Saturday morning my mom and I busted up at 6am and drove to Tulare to try another horse. I really really like this one. It's not exactly perfect, but seems to be really good minded and quite talented. It would take some work to get her ready to be shown in the bridle and some other little touches, but I really like her. I am going to go to Scottsdale this coming weekend to try 3-4 more horses, but I will definately keep this one in mind.

Mom on the Move

Today I helped my mom and our friend Wendy move from Chino to their new home in Norco. The new house is on an acre of property and even has a barn for horses. In fact they have already filled it. My mom, for the first time, has a horse of her own. It is qa really sweet mare named Whoa Now Miss Lark. She is still trying to figure out what it's nickname should be. Please make a comment with an name ideas you might have. Wendy also got a mare named The Major Affair. She too is searching for a good nickname. I have posted some pic below of the horse to help give you ideas.

Visit With Dad & Lanell

Last night we had dinner with my dad and Lanell to celebrate Father's Day (yes, a bit late). We met them at their home in Belflower and then headed to dinner at Enrique's. The food was really good. We headed for home pretty early in the evening since it had been a really long day.

I met my mom at 8am at her home in Chino. The toll road was closed at Chapman so I had to take Katella to the 55 fwy and cut over to the 91 fwy from there. Luckily I had left home like 30 minutes early so I was still at my mom's home on time. Then we drove to Temecula to try the horse. Then I dropped her off back home in Chino and headed back to my home in RSM. I got cleaned up, grabbed Dave and then off to Huntington Beach to show Rick (my horse trainer) the video of the horse I just tried in Temecula. The to Bellflower to dinner and home again. I ended up drivein roughly 250 mile in just one very long day.

Another Try

Well, I tried out another horse this weekend. I really like it, but it just isn't exactly right. Sad :o(
