It's All in the Context

So I decided that the pic is actually pretty cool. The problem is the context. It's really bad since we are in the show pen. However, if we were, say, running for our lives from a posse of outlaws with guns blazing, well then the pic would be pretty darn cool!

My Horse is Possessed!

This pic was taken at the Los Serranos horse show last month in Palos Verdes. The show that I referred to in a previous post as when Breezy had "too much fun". He more then redeemed himself at the last show though.

Dinner in Norco

Last night we went to Norco to hang out with my mom and Wendy. We visited the minis, ate a yummy dinner, and played a fun game, Whoonu.

6 Year Anniversary

The 1st of July marked our 6th year of marriage, however since I was stuck in the armpit of hell showing my horse we decided to celebrate last night. I was a practically perfect night. We had dinner at the Wolfgang Puck Cafe at South Coast Plaza. Gifts were exchanged while we waited for our meal. I got him cufflinks from Tiffany's with "D.T." engraved on them, but I put the Tiffany's box in a Nordstrom bag to try to throw him off. He still guessed they were cufflinks before opening his present, but didn't guess that they were actually from Tiffany's. He got me a velour tracksuit by Juicy. It fits perfectly and we are calling it the "magic" suit because it looks so good on me. But, I may exchange it for the more summery terrycloth shirtsleeve capri length version. Still have not decided. After that we went to Nordstrom to try on different styles a Juicy Suits, as mentioned previously, and got Dave a pair of "magic" jeans and a couple cute t-shirts. Then to the movie theater to watch Devil Wears Prada. Altogether a super wonderful evening!

Hot Hot HOT

The theme of this weekend was HOT!

I showed on both Saturday and Sunday at the Summer Fling Reining Show in Burbank at the LA Equestrian Center. It was so very hot that it zapped all the fun out of the show. On Saturday I rode really well and Breezy was really good. We actually scored our highest score yet of 70 1/2. Sadly the nausea, headache and disorientation took all the fun out of that too. Sunday Was at least slightly cooler, but still too freakishly hot to really enjoy it. I scored a 69, but trotted out of a rollback, a 2 point penalty. So that means that had I simply push Breezy a bit harder out of the rollback we would have scored a 71! Someday we will get it all together at the same time :o)

Amazing Person

I met an amazing and INSPIRING person last night at a friend's parent's house. His name is Nick Vujicic. He is from Australia and is a motivational speaker and a man of God. Nick was born without any arms or legs. He is now making an impact on people in several different countries from Indonesia to Africa and beyond. I would describe him, having spent a couple hours with him, as enthusiastic, joyful, and determined.

Great Ride

Had a super great ride this morning. Breezy was really good. The circles were awesome; he just shuffled back from fast to slow perfectly. And his spins are so much better! I think we could get plused to the left! And we have a show next Sunday so I feel really confident going into that. It is a small show, but will give me the opportunity to start getting qualified for the Jack & Linda Baker PCHA Reining Classic to be held in LA in August. It is kinda late in the season to start the qualifing process, but I am sure we will be able to do it.
