A Photographic Safari

Since Rick didn't have a horse for me to ride today I stayed home and hung out with my hubby. We decided to go for a walk around our neighborhood together and play with our digital camera...a photographic safari, if you will. Here are some fo the shots we took of the strange wild, and not so wild, life that lives around us.

Try and guess which picture Dave took...

I'm Back! well, closer anyways....

Yesterday morning I arrived at the stables at 7:45am. And to my surprise and delight, Rick assigned me to ride the same horse I rode last week. However, this time I could steer! In fact, I was like a new person. Still not back 100%, more like 65.3%. But, I had sooooo much fun! I got to stop and spin and to big/fast and small/slow circles. REALLY FUN!!!!

About the time I was getting off my mom and Wendy showed up. I stuck around to watch Wendy ride and took a few pictures.

Rick spinning.
Opps, I was a little slow on the draw. Still getting used to the timing.

Sore w/ a captial "S"

In preparation for purchasing my horse, I went riding yesterday. I asked Rick to let me ride just any random horse just so I could get used to 'being back in the saddle again'...so to speak. However, he provided a very talented horse for me to ride. It would have been really fun if I could have remembered how to steer. See I know it all in my head, but just couldn't get the feel back. It's not like I was out of control or anything, the precision and balance just wasn't there. Hopefully, I didn't teach the horse too many bad habits. Rick did let me turn/spin it, though. The horse could really turn! It was so fun! I must admit that I was a bit dizzy after the first few turns. I guess it wasn't too bad for being my first time to ride in more than 3 years. However, I woke up this morning and could barely get out of bed! Getting in and out of my little car is like torture. Still, I am planning on riding again next week. I don't think Rick will give me such a nice horse next week :o)

Mother's Day - The 1st Half

Dave and I met my mom at her new church in Chino in the morning. Enjoyed the service and hen headed out to breakfast at Farmer Boy's, a favorite of Mom and Wendy's. Then we went on a tour of all the many critters of Chino.

You see when I was very young we didn't have much money so my mom would take me to the dog pound and call it the zoo. It is now a running family joke. So we called our tour through the streets of Chino, "a safari through the Wild Animal Park".

Here are some of the fierce beasts that we encountered:
